LAPPARRA & GABRIEL Empire-style silver appetizer/petit four set consisting of 4 pieces, with vermeil-plated spoons, forks, and inner parts: - 1 petit four set; fork and scoop with incised foliage decoration. L: 13.1 cm; - 1 petit four scoop with openwork decoration featuring foliage and a winged torch. L: 13.7 cm; - 1 sugar tong with a leaf-shaped tip and a scroll-decorated clasp. Decorated with water leaves, fleurons, palmettes, cascading flowers, and a flaming torch surrounded by swan wings. Design by Baron GERARD, Painter to the Empire (1770–1837). Clips adorned with a laurel wreath. Back of the spoons features a stylized interlaced monogram: “MH.” Minerva hallmarks, 1st title. Goldsmiths’ hallmarks: LAPPARRA & GABRIEL (“LG” and rat), active from 1902 to 1923. Weight: 96.8 grams.
