Pair of Louis XIV period silver torches.
Square foot (octagonal) with large frieze of gadroons.
Engraved with a central coat of arms stamped with a Marquis crown and monogram.
Bases and nodes with gadroons.
Shafts, binnacles and upper parts of feet with rich chased decoration of foliate scrolls and fleurons.
A pair of unmarked silver bobèches (goldsmith-tested) engraved with the same monogram as the bases.
Charge and discharge marks for PARIS 1713-17.
Swearing hallmarks for PARIS 1713 ("V" crowned).
Hallmarks attributed to Nicolas HANNIER, master silversmith (hallmark with initials "NH" and crescent below), received in 1683.
Master's hallmark repeated 2 times under each base.
Height of the torches: 20.3 cm.
