Letter opener with mother-of-pearl handle inlaid with a gold medallion "A".
Shell, base and blade in vermeil.
Both sides decorated with bees and laurel wreaths with fleurons. Stitches and base to be replaced.
Blade with 2nd title hallmarks and warranty for PARIS 1819-38.
Master goldsmith's and cutler's hallmark: Charles GAVET (coutelier du Roi), received in 1820, crossed out in 1832.
