The foot is chased with a large frieze of interlacing flowers on an amati background. Border engraved "J. RENIOT".

Common house hallmark for Chalon-Sur-Saône 1765-66 (crowned M).
Master goldsmith's hallmark: Claude Bénigme OUDOT, received in 1757.
