LANCEL "French Légèreté" handbag, "Brigitte BARDOT" model, in pale blue canvas and brown/chocolate faux leather. The bottom of the bag is edged with a brown leather trim and features a "belt buckle"-style plate decorated with stylized foliage motifs and inscribed with "French Légèreté, 1876." It features a twisted leather handle and a removable shoulder strap decorated with embroidered stylized flowers and foliage. Closes with a braided cord ending in fringes. The interior is lined in pink “Vichy” check. It features 3 flap pockets and 1 zippered pocket with a carabiner; each pocket is labeled (“Saint Tropez,” “La Madrague,” and “la Place des Lices”). Silver plated metal hardware (most of it signed by the brand). Height of bag: 31 cm. Dimensions of bottom compartment: 20 x 13.2 cm. Dimensions at the top: approximately 28 x 32 x 15 cm. Shows signs of use (pen marks on the inside, stains [inside and outside], and scuff marks). Launched by Lancel in 2010 in collaboration with Brigitte Bardot, this bag was designed without any animal-derived materials at the actress’s strict request. Each interior pocket features embroidered references to iconic places in Brigitte Bardot’s life. The fabrics and shoulder strap were selected based on the artist’s taste (for example, a shoulder strap reminiscent of guitar straps).
